Belle Journée En Perspective

BJEP (Beautiful Day In Perspective) is a collective of photographers consisting of Alain Bali, David Cosset, and Jean-Luc Maby. Their photographic production between 1974 and 1982 was primarily inspired by the social and cultural movements of the time. Their images are published under a single signature, as collective photography practice is possible without technical division of labor and without individual appropriation of authorship.
Starting in 1977, following shots of the “subculture” of rocker gangs, BJEP turned their cameras toward the emergence of the punk movement, both in France and in England, with the aim of publishing the book “I’m a Cliché” (Édition de Nesle, Paris, 1979).
